Course Overview
We have been a key training partner providing tailored training programmes to many private and public ambulance services, and universities throughout the UK for over 30 years.
Our training has evolved since our initial engagement on this topic when we were approached by West Midland Ambulance Trust who had a requirement to train every member of staff on how to avoid, resolve or control conflict situations.
This training was extremely successful and resulted in a 31% reduction in reported incidents relating to staff being abused, threatened, or assaulted at work in the subsequent two years.
Solutions are a progressive company, our aim is to continuously evolve and enhance our training programmes and delivery methods to provide our customers with thorough, cost effective training solutions.
In 2010 Solutions gained agreement to be able to deliver conflict resolutions training via blended learning to ambulance trusts which until this time had not been approved.
Our CRT 2021 online course is the only online course available that is exclusively tailored for the U.K ambulance sector and is used by Ambulance Trusts Nationwide.
In 2022 Solutions developed and added our Disengagement/Holding Skills video element to our offering. This addition to our training portfolio has been well received by our customers. It teaches staff the correct techniques to manage conflict situations safely.

Our Team and History
A successful business, established in 1994 by Paul Meek a former Operations Director of an ambulance service. Throughout Paul's career, he was exposed daily to the consequences of poorly managed risks, and this is what spurred Paul to establish Solutions Training, he wanted to bridge the visible but avoidable gaps in risk management and in particular health & safety education and the development of the equipment used to aid safer transportation of people.
Our team are all members of the “National Back Exchange” and have been contributors to various working groups on developing good practice since 1995, including research into “what constitutes effective moving and handling training” performed by the Ergonomics Department at Loughborough University and in partnership developed topic-related awards at Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4 which are on the regulated qualifications framework.
We have successfully designed a wide range of training programmes to assist organisations with managing risk effectively.
Paul and his team's continued vision of improvement to managing risk by developing people and his operational experience has helped many companies and individuals improve their knowledge and technical skills, which has proven to reduce risk in the workplace.
