This course will provide an understanding of the potential hazards associated with the use of hand tools and power tools as well as the safety precautions required to prevent those hazards from occurring. Power tool hazards are addressed by the power source used: pneumatic, liquid fuel, hydraulic, or powder-actuated.
In this course, workers will learn how to safely work with hand tools. They will learn to use the correct tool for the job and never to substitute a makeshift or inferior tool. Workers will learn how to anticipate job hazards before they occur and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
