This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others.
A functional level of English language communication and comprehension skills are required to undertake the course.
This course is eligible for CITB funding. The CITB is a whole-of-industry led organisation that provides support to attract, train and retain South Australian building and construction workers by providing leadership in training and skills development.
Each financial year, Eligible Persons with an approved CITB number are provided with $3,000 of training fee subsidies through the Construction Skills Training Program.
Upon receipt of enrolment, students will be sent an email with further instructions on claiming the CITB rebate. You do not need to provide your CITB number at the time of enrolment.

To get your QLD White Card, you’ll need to complete the ‘Prepare to work safely in the construction Industry CPCWHS1001 (QLD White Card)’ certification. It is mandatory training for anyone to work on a construction site in Queensland.
