Contemporary dance explores and pushes response or reaction to music and is also a tool for dancers to strengthen their bodies, while increasing mobility, flexibility and agility. Contemporary dance classes are on offer for Grade 3 and above.
Upstaged Dance and Performance Studio is a community based dance school where you can learn to dance in a fun and safe environment while enjoying a supportive, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
As a dance school full of young people we have a responsibility to have a positive influence on our students. We would also like to have an influence on homeless and disadvantaged young people in our community.

Contemporary Dance Lessons are offered by Dance2Music. Dance2Music Provides a range of different dance styles and classes.Â
We have combined these two beautiful styles of dance to assure we are building technique in students, while teaching our students to find the emotional connection in dance.
Our contemporary classes are for the more serious advanced dancer from 7 years up. These classes work on both the traditional and commercial contemporary / lyrical styles giving our students the importance of technique and quality training needed for this style of dance.
This class is not only about giving the students a sound understanding of traditional contemporary dance technique while having fun. It also propels them to consider how dance works are structured. Allowing each individual the chance to experiment in a class situation.
Our kids contemporary dance classes are for the child who wears their heart on their sleeve and loves simply to express themselves through movement. Fusing technique with raw movement and ballet styles with expressive flowing patterns, contemporary dance is less structured and more about rhythm.
