This course is aimed at all non-NHS staff that provide care service including care at home, care homes for children and young people, early education and childcare.
The course is also aimed at individuals within these groups who have minimal contact, staff who have contact with service related equipment, and contracted/voluntary staff engaged in any of the categories above.
The course is of great importance as?Infections and diseases in the community including influenza, MRSA and C.diff are not going away BUT are controllable.
The Course assists care service providers to meet relevant legislation and reduce the possibility of transmission of disease. The course addresses critical areas of concern related to infection control principles/practices and provides information and increased awareness about Infection Control in the Care Environment
Gary was employed by Glasgow City Council as an EHO for 23 years gaining invaluable experience across a wide sector of health and safety and food safety enforcement activities which has given him a great depth of knowledge and understanding of the safety environment.
During his time at GCC, Gary developed a speciality for health and safety enforcement within the Events & Entertainment Industry contributing to the UK’s guide to the Events Industry - “The Events Guide”
Founding Safety First Solutions in 2004, Gary has established a wide variety of clients in the Events Industry working at festivals, stadium tours, international awards ceremonies street events and the like (see Events List here). Since that time Gary has gone on to provide health and safety services at many events all over the World including Europe, USA, Africa and the Middle East.

This course aims to raise awareness of the importance of minimising the risk of infection in the workplace in order to prevent diseases from spreading.
This course is for staff that work with clients with personal care needs, areas where there is a high risk of infections spreading. This course includes the elements of Covid-19 course statutory and mandatory requirements.
