Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat

Description:

This course provides training in controlling traffic with a stop-slow bat for a range of road conditions.

Course Details:

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Control traffic in road way conditions
• Apply traffic management plans and procedures
• Position appropriate traffic control signage, devices and barricades
• Communicate using radio operations, hand signals, devices and signage
• Identify the effects of travel speed and vehicle mass stopping distances
• Understand timely control of traffic with a stop-slow bat that safely, effectively and efficiently meets the required outcomes

Successful participants, upon application approval to the Department of Queensland Transport and Main Roads (TMR), will be issued with a Traffic Controller Industry Authority Card valid for three (3) years
NB. All applicants for Traffic Controller accreditation are subject to offence history, licence history and other checks.

Outcomes:

• This course is nationally recognised (accredited).
• Participants who successfully complete all requirements will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS205E Control traffic with stop/slow bat.
