In this programme, delegates will adopt a strong stewardship stance: corporate governors are in fact stewards of resources for owners, investors, customers and wider society.
Good governance is at the centre of any successful business. It is essential for achieving business objectives and driving improvement, as well as maintaining legal and ethical standing in the eyes of shareholders, regulators and the wider community.

The University of Salford, Manchester are offering a range of language courses to anyone who wishes to develop their language in a friendly, supportive environment. Each course will be taught over a 22-week period at our Peel Park campus, just five minutes from Manchester city centre.
All our language classes are centered around our students and have been designed to develop practical language skills.
Each course will run from September to May with a choice of afternoon or early evening sessions available. Each week you will attend a two-hour class to help progress and consolidate your learning around the four core skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing.
You will learn with students and members of staff from the University. Together you will work towards achieving learning outcomes, gaining a range of transferable skills such as focused listening, teamwork and cultural appreciation.
You will also benefit from a large range of online resources and materials through our virtual learning environment, Blackboard.
Adopting a good governance framework places organisations in a stronger position to avoid bad practices and exposure to bad publicity and reduces the risk of receiving potential fines from regulators and governmental agencies alike.
This module will focus on board governance issues, from composition and structure, to tasks and responsibilities, particularly with respect to risk management, strategy, long-termism and sustainability.
