The aim of this course is to provide delegates with a general awareness of the requirements set out in the COSHH legislation and code of practice for anyone who is exposed to certain hazardous substances. This course is a combination of both theory and practical.

Examination

On Successful completion of this course delegates will have a general awareness of Hazard warnings and signs along with the Safe limits involved when using hazardous substances

On successful completion of this course delegates will be issued an In House Training providers certificate

  • Introduction to the latest legislation and codes of practice.

  • Responsibilities of the employer and the employee.

  • Whats covered and not covered by COSHH.

  • Defining the terms hazard and risk.

  • What constitutes a health hazard?

  • What are the safe limits?

  • Hazard warning signs and labels.

  • Understanding a material safety data sheet (MSDS).

  • The requirements for COSHH assessments.

  • Prevention of exposure.
