Cost Evaluation And Control

The Cost Evaluation and Control course is a credit bearing course towards the SACPCMP accredited BSc Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying.

Students will be required to register for the Research and Professional Skills course as well, completion of which is a prerequisite for admission to the Honours programme. Students who complete any of these courses will receive a fully accredited Wits Certificate of Competence for that course.

• Life cycle costing;
• Developers budget;
• Cost planning, cost to design and design to cost, cost checks;
• Value creation in projects and value engineering and management;
• Preparation of financial appraisals and presentations of financial reports for projects;
• Implementation of financial controls;
• Financial effects of time on projects;
• Sources and uses of data for project cost management.
