This course meets the training requirements for the issue of recreational and occupational firearms licences. (For Security Guard Training See CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations).
This course specifies the knowledge and skills weapons licence applicants require for the lawful, responsible, and safe use of various categories of firearms and other weapons for occupational purposes, sports or target shooting, and recreational pursuits, including firearms collection and historical demonstrations and military re-enactments. The Weapons Categories Regulation 1997 provides a list of weapons that fall within the various weapons categories.

The Monaro Arms Safety course is for categories A & B for the purpose of sport target shooting & recreational hunting.
This course in firearms safety categories A, & B is designed to be delivered through a blended training package or 8 hours face to face training. Theory will be completed online with 4 hours of face to face practical assessments.
Firearm Safety Courses are conducted frequently at the TMRC clubhouse for Category A and B weapons (category H is available on request). The courses are run on a weekend (typically on a Saturday) and take 4 to 5 hours depending on the number of participants.
