Certification in CPR/AED provides the skills to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking in adults (level A), and adults, children, and babies (level C).

Course Content

This course meets the provincial requirements for worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).You'll complete this course knowing how to:

  • Perform CPR on people of all ages, including rescues for:

    • unconscious adults (Level A) or adults/children/babies (Level C) who are breathing

    • unconscious adults (Level A) or adults/children/babies (Level C) who are not breathing

  • Help someone who's choking, whether they're conscious or unconscious

  • Address heart attacks, angina, strokes, and other circulatory emergencies

  • Recognize how and when and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) device

Once you complete the course and successfully pass the certification exam, you'll receive workplace-approved CPR/AED certification based on your chosen level (A or C).Valid for 3 years, this certification accepted across Canada. 

Classroom-Based

This course provides an interactive classroom experience; you'll move from theory to hands-on practice under the supervision of a dynamic, engaging first aid instructor. 

  • CPR-A: 4 hours in class
  • CPR-C: 5 hours in class
  • BLS: 4 hours in class

Blended (online and in-person)

Combining independent online learning and in-class skills practice, the blended option provides you with additional flexibility for busy schedules. With this approach, you'll complete a portion of the course online before you complete a skills class in person. 

  • CPR-A: 3 hours of online learning, followed by 2 hours in class
  • CPR-C: 3 hours of online learning, followed by 2 hours in class
  • BLS: Unavailable as the blended delivery option.
