The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
Who should take this class?
This course is for healthcare professionals, nursing students, EMT students, and EMS who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
Continuing Education (CE) Credits are available for Physical Therapy, RDA, RDH, DDS, and DMD licenses. This course is approved for 4.0 contact hours.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose.

At the end of the Basic Life Support Course, students will be able to:

Course Completion Card or Certificate
American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers Course Completion Card is valid for two years.
In the classroom, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA BLS Instructor to complete BLS skills practice and skills testing. Students also complete a written exam.
Note: Saturday students will receive their e-cards on the following Monday by 5pm (following Tuesday by 5pm, if Monday is a holiday).
Students who take the online class receive the same training, the same certification and the same blue card as the other classroom, private or semi-private session students.
This training modality and others that we offer are approved and certified by the Los Angeles Fire Department in order to serve all students in the community.
First Aid / CPR training is offered by Spartan Consulting and Safety. The information provided in the classroom is reinforced with hands-on application sessions at Spartan training facility.
The Seattle Fire Department provides training classes in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and choking techniques. Since the CPR Program (Medic II) started in 1971, more than 850,000 Seattle and King County residents have been trained and retrained in the lifesaving technique of CPR.
Medic First Aid BasicPlus is a combined adult first aid, CPR and AED training program. This hands-on program is designed for the occupational first aid provider or individuals with the desire to gain first aid, CPR and AED knowledge and skills.
The course is essential for employees designated as first responders. The students will receive a certificate of completion & wallet card upon completion.
This class is structured for people in the workplace and community ~ teachers, child care workers, general industry, construction industry, parents, school bus drivers, emergency response teams in a work setting ~ just to name a few.
