Crane Inspection Awareness Training

This training is not nationally recognised; however, a certificate of attendance will be issued at the end of your course.

 

Course Overview

Mine Training Australia (MTA) Crane inspection awareness training has been developed following industry best practice, relevant Australian Standards, and the new Work Health & Safety Regulations (General & Mines) 2022.

  • Introduction to Crane Inspections Definitions & Examples

  • Discussion on Crane Inspections

  • Australian Standards for Cranes

  • Certificates of Competency – Crane & Hoist Operators

  • Sample Certificates & Documentation

  • WHS Regulations on General Exemptions

  • Reports for Statutory Inspections

Under the new DMIRS Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022 (Regulations) that came into effect as of the 31 March 2022. The term “classified Plant” has now been renamed to “Registerable Plant”.

The WHS Regulations replaces the Occupational and Safety Regulations 1996 (OSH Regulations). The implementation of the WHS Regulations will result in several changes to administrative procedures for registration of items of plant and plant design.

Participants need to be a competent person for registration of plant under the WHS Regulations if they have:

  • educational or vocational qualifications in an engineering discipline that is relevant to the plant being inspected; or

  • knowledge of the technical standards relevant to the plant to be inspected.

 

Entry Requirements

  • A moderate English language, literacy and numeracy skill is required.
  • Participants must be over eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Participants need to be a competent person for registration of plant under the WHS Regulations (General & Mines) 2022.
