Under the new DMIRS Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022 (Regulations) that came into effect as of the 31 March 2022. The term “classified Plant” has now been renamed to “Registerable Plant”.
The WHS Regulations replaces the Occupational and Safety Regulations 1996 (OSH Regulations). The implementation of the WHS Regulations will result in several changes to administrative procedures for registration of items of plant and plant design.
Participants need to be a competent person for registration of plant under the WHS Regulations if they have:
educational or vocational qualifications in an engineering discipline that is relevant to the plant being inspected; or
knowledge of the technical standards relevant to the plant to be inspected.

. This course develops the skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain breathing apparatus and equipment in an irrespirable atmosphere, as defined by the Australian Standard AS/NZS 1715:2009 Selection, use and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment.
The Scissor Lift EWP Verification of Competency (VOC) course is aimed at participants who currently hold a Scissor Lift EWPA licence – i.e. EWPA Operator Licence (EWP) for a Scissor Lift (SL).
This 4 hour course provides participants with the skills required to identify possible locations of asbestos building materials, comply with the regulations related to safe reporting of the hazard and understand the health risks associated with asbestos exposure.
This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a HRWL licence to operate this plant.
