This class requires “Adult Learning Theory” (provided by Made Safe) as a prerequisite. Crane or hoist incidents can cause significant injuries and deaths as well as extensive property damage. Legislation states that competent crane operators require training that includes duties, operation, terminology, inspection, and maintenance among others. Legislation requires classroom training as well as supervised operation before an operator is considered competent.
This course will develop in-house overhead crane trainers, enabling your facility to be self-sufficient in regard to your crane/hoist operator training needs. This course will develop presentation skills so the learner will be able to provide their students with an understanding of crane/hoist terminology and safety principles, the ability to safely operate and inspect a crane/hoist and assess and control hazards on site. This course is designed for supervisors or workers who have the ability to speak in front of others and a clear understanding of crane/hoist operation in a manufacturing environment.
