By the end of the course, candidates will be able to attach a load to a crane, taking into account its dimensions, material, mass and centre of gravity, and communicate with the crane operator to safely lift and move the load from one position to another position and set it down. Candidates will be able to demonstrate an awareness of other site operations, pedestrians, hazards in the environment and weather conditions, taking appropriate action to minimise risk and increase efficiency. Additionally, candidates will be able to discuss the role of lifting plans in crane operations, and they will be able to discuss and perform pre-use inspection of slinging equipment required for operations.
On successful completion of Crane Slinger and Signaller course candidates will be issued with a certificate of training.
