Discussion includes criminal liability, criminal offenses, and punishments that drivers may face following a crash in addition to their civil liability. The civil litigation process will be covered in length for participants to understand how a company initiated investigation, including effective photo-taking and evidence collection methods, can reduce insurance settlement amounts.
The entire civil proceedings process will be discussed with emphasis on courtroom or deposition testimony by company personnel and the tactics used by plaintiff attorneys. Participants will have a thorough understanding of the impact a poor or weak DOT Safety Compliance Program can affect civil litigation.
