Malvern Cube
Malvern Cube is run by a charity, Malvern Youth and Community Trust. We are a volunteer led organisation, operating ‘for the community, by the community’. This means that community benefit is the governing principle at the heart of all that we do, and the involvement of volunteers is central to the way we do things.
In our decision making and daily operation we are guided by a set of core values that shape the way we do things.
Malvern Youth and Community Trust came out of a collective which formed spontaneously in response to a move by Worcestershire County Council to close Malvern Youth Centre as part of a cost saving plan to close down all youth centres across the County.
The collective campaigned for over a year to save the youth centre and restore it into the hands of the community. In November 2011, the County Council agreed to lease the building to the collective on a long term basis.
We have registered over 360,000 learners throughout our history and worked with over 400 organisations. OCN NI are at the forefront of education within Northern Ireland. We want to be your Awarding Organisation of choice.
These workshops are aimed to inspire and encourage the stories and ideas in your head and onto paper. Each session has a mix of poetry and tales told by Sheena Blackwell as stimulus and participants can express in writing and illustration as they wish. We provide a notebook and pencil in your first
Writing is everywhere. From the films we watch, the TV we stream and the books we read, to the social media posts we write, the marketing pitches that surround us and the news stories we receive across print and digital formats. Increasingly too, that writing is not produced by people, but by AI.
Write your own poetry, find your way with fiction, shape scripts, explore creative non-fiction and try your hand at experimental writing.
You will develop confidence and ability in reading, identifying, understanding and extracting the main points and ideas in texts. You will develop confidence and ability in writing, using appropriate format, structure and language.
