Creative Writing course is offered by SoundCafe
Creative writing is now included in our weekly Creative Cafe on Wednesday afternoons 1 – 3pm at St Mary de Castro Church, Church View.
During the pandemic guests participated in various creative writing and poetry activities via packs sent to them at home. Our Creative Cafe provides the opportunity for guests to be involved in a number of different activities each week

SoundCafe (SCL) aims to inspire those who are homeless or socially isolated as a consequence of their living arrangements, by providing safe creative spaces. SCL offers opportunities for guests to access services that encourage their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.

What is SoundCafe?
SoundCafe provides safe creative spaces for people (our guests) who are homeless, have lived experience, at risk of homelessness or socially isolated or living in vulnerable housing in Leicester and Leicestershire, to enable them to explore their own creativity. We welcome guests of all faiths and none.

Building on the foundations of Creative Writing for Beginners this course gives you the opportunity to both practice skills you have acquired, as well as tackle new activities and types of creative of writing.
Whether you’re looking to develop your own writing skills and editorial practice for your profession or for purely personal interest, our creative writing courses have much to offer you.
This workshop is about how we can use art to engage with community activity. Participants will experiment with a variety of artistic materials to explore ideas in an open, relaxed environment.
To support your career we provide fully accredited courses so that you do not face any problem getting a job or receiving a promotion in your workplace!
This course runs in three, stand-alone ten week blocks over the academic year. The main focus will be life writing, and this theme will be explored through the different creative writing styles of:
