One of the most memorable moments in my short-lived career was playing alongside my Father, Derrick Phillips. We opened the batting together and I was captained to victory by him at the tender age of 14.
My Dad has always been my inspiration in my career. I was never coached by him but always received priceless advice on and off the field, and still do. I always thought I would be a Professional Cricketer, but due to injury that never happened.
When I decided to open the Academy and I realised how fulfilling it is to see a young cricketer improve session after session, I knew this is why… I’m still so involved in the game, just from a different perspective.
I am a Qualified Cricket South Africa Coach & Australian Coach and I have had the privilege to train with the South African Team, as well as the Australian Team.
4 years Later and we are growing daily. It is an absolute joy and honour to work with young aspiring cricketers daily and to be part of their growth and development on and off the cricket field.

At The Cricket Academy we want every Player we coach to experience the JOY of playing Cricket to their FULL POTENTIAL and for them to learn the valuable life lessons the game has to offer. We work with players of all abilities from beginners to Professionals.
The Durbanville Cricket Club was started 1942, ceased to function towards the end of WWII and was restarted 1954/55 at the old fields in Queen Street. Today you will find a residential complex.
The All Rounder Cricket Academy which is based in the beautiful city of Cape Town and was started in early 2006 by Wayne Hendricks (UCB Level III). With a life-long passion for cricket and a talent for working with children.
The parents at the Youth Cricket Academy (YCA) have shown a great deal of interest in getting their younger children involved in the basics of cricket before they get to primary school.
Cricket coaching classes are offered by Pinelands Cricket Club.
