It is suitable for beginner to intermediate skill level. Helena will cover topics such as fabric selection, pattern making, cutting and sewing for making seat, back and scatter cushions for furniture.
The students may purchase as many 3 hour class sessions as they would like. These are held either one-on-one or as small classes so each student will have the opportunity to work closely with Helena. Students may bring in their own cushions to recover along with their fabric, or they may purchase fabrics, cushion inserts and accessories from us.
The Deka Design School of Furniture has been holding furniture restoration, upholstery and sewing classes since 2013 in Brisbane and Gold Coast, Australia.
Run by master furniture makers Lasse and Helena Kinnunen, these classes provide students at all skill levels instruction in upholstery, repair, restoration and sewing, as well as one-on-one tuition in furniture design and making.
