Looking for a customer service apprenticeship in kent? Earn while you learn at midkent college. Customer service apprentices often work in the public facing side of a business. Regularly assisting customers, they are vital to the success of any business.

Duties will vary between sectors, but in most cases you’ll be making sure that customers are dealt with in an efficient and professional way - whether that’s by offering advice, answering questions or handling complaints. You’ll also need to feel confident and calm working under pressure.

You could work in a range of roles such as service co-ordinator, customer adviser, or project manager, interacting with a diverse group of customers and clients.

What will I learn?

  • You’ll develop your customer service skills, become more knowledgeable in coordinating teams and learn about how current legislation impacts on those working in a customer service environment. You’ll also study English, maths and ICT at an appropriate level for you. The theoretical and practical skills you learn at College can be immediately put into practice in your workplace.
  • Once you have learnt the theory at College, and have built up your experience in your workplace, you’ll have an excellent set of transferable skills that can be used in a range of different industries.

How will I be assessed?

  • Your dedicated training officer will assess most of your learning in your workplace. You’ll also be assessed in English and maths at a level to suit you.

What will I get from a Customer Service apprenticeship?

  • A nationally recognised qualification
  • GCSEs in English and maths (dependent on previous level)
  • Relevant and applicable industry experience
  • Communication, organisation and teamwork skills.

How much do apprentices earn?

  • Employers must provide their apprentices with a contract of employment for a minimum of 30 hours per week, which should include your attendance at College. Apprentices must be paid at least the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage, but this can be increased at the discretion of your employer.

What careers are available?

  • Customer relationship manager
  • Team leader
  • Sales associate
  • Estate agent
  • Customer account agent.
