This unit of competency is within the TLI Transport and Logistics Training Package.This course provides you with the tools to identify, assess, handle and store dangerous goods and hazardous substances in the workplace safely and in accordance with legislative requirements.

The course begins from the premise that most of us know something about mental health and mental illness and how work can affect us. This course will enable the learner to go to the next step of understanding what at work can affect our mental health.

HAZMAT training outcomes include the ability to select, don, test and safely operate appropriate personal protective clothing and equipment for an incident involving dangerous goods and hazardous substances.

This course applies to emergency response teams and personnel required to detect and identify contaminants at a hazardous materials incident. Participants will prepare, maintain and use specific specialist equipment to detect airborne contaminants, liquids and solids
