Data Science Major (Bachelor of Science)

• Data Science is a broad field that encompasses the generation and analysis of data. The nuances of this can require advanced knowledge of networks and computing systems, or can require advanced knowledge of analytical methods such as statistical machine learning, and in many instances knowledge of both.

• Data science (systems), machine learning, and artificial intelligence are very lucrative robust industries globally and locally. Careers are permeating down to startups and local companies that require expertise in these areas. Graduates will have the necessary skills to learn how a particular company implements solutions which is infeasible without this training.

Admission Requirements

• English Studies 12/English First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent)
• Bachelor of Science majors have specific first year course requirements. It is strongly recommended that students become familiar with the prerequisite requirements for these courses before applying for admission.

• Physics 11 (or equivalent), (or PHYS 1130)
• Chemistry 11 (or equivalent)
