This course introduces the student to the sterile processing role in a health care environment, microbiology concepts, infection control, aseptic techniques and workplace environmental hazards.
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the basic ability to recognize the hazards associated with occupational exposure to blood and body fluids; be familiar with the steps to prevent exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
Upon completion of these modules, you will have gained knowledge in reducing the risk of spreading infectious illness to yourself and to others.
At the end of this course you will be able to identify risks of significant blood exposure like hepatitis and AIDS.
The Bloodborne Pathogen training course is addressed to all employees who are exposed to the microscopic hazards present in the human blood, as well as to other potentially infectious materials, such as needles.
