The individual (speaking) test might be any day during the exam session week even though we try to schedule it on the same day of the exam.
Candidates with special educational needs may get specific testing accommodations provided they request it in writing 4 months prior to the exam date.
Candidates requesting specific accommodations need to provide a medical certificate explaining the specificity and the doctor's recommendations to take an exam that assess the four language skills (listening, reading, writing and speaking). If providing payment for a third party, please add a comment to specify who will be taking the exam.
How to choose a level
Choose A1 if you can:
introduce yourself and introduce someone;
understand ads and basic spoken instructions;
understand basic short texts;
fill in a form with personal details;
answer basic questions;
ask basic questions;
interact in French to buy something and pay.
Choose A2 if you can:
realize easy daily tasks in French (interact with a shopkeeper for a purchase, make inquiries, take public transportation, etc.);
using most common polite forms of address and dialogues;
tell a past event;
understand a basic conversation;
talk about your likes and dislikes and explain;
describe your daily life and close environment (hobbies, school, family, friends);
understand a personal letter / email and answer (to thank, invite, apologize, accept or refuse an invitation);
understand information to direct yourself;
link sentences with connecting words such as "et", "mais", "parce que", "d'abord", "ensuite", etc.
Choose B1 if you can:
tell an event, an experience, a dream;
describe a hope, a project, a goal;
give your opinion and justify with arguments;
express feelings;
express agreement and disagreement and explain why;
understand important elements of the news (a newspapers article, an TV news extract or a radio programme extract);
make hypothesis, give advice, make suggestions;
convince someone;
get by in an unforeseen situation that can occur in daily life, at work or on holiday;
organize a presentation or a speech in a logical and structured manner.

The Alliance fran?aise de Ballarat offers three levels of language classes from complete beginners to intermediate, across four terms of six weeks each. Classes are conducted by experienced tutors on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings at the Eastwood.
The DELF and DALF are diplomas awarded by the French Ministry of Education to prove the French-language skills of non-French candidates. There are six independent diplomas, which correspond, respectively, to the six levels of the Council of Europe' s Common European Framework of Reference.
