What Is The DELF

The DELF is a diploma certifying your level of French as a foreign language given by the French Ministry of Education. Therefore, it is an official and permanent certification.

The exams are divided into 4 exercises: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, written production, and speaking interaction and production.

Why Should You Take The DELF Exam

  • Firstly, this is an official diploma of the French Ministry of Education which permanently validate your level of the French language. You will know your level with a non-biased view.
  • Secondly, the diploma officially and permanently validates the learning of the French language.
  • Thirdly, it allows students to study, work and/or migrate to a French-speaking country (France, Belgium, Switzerland as well as Québec for instance).
  • Indeed, French universities and Grandes Écoles require the French language for entry. Generally, an undergraduate entry requires a DELF B2 and a DALF C1 for postgraduate entry. However, you should ask your (future) school for confirmation.
  • Fourthly, it will encourage your students to keep studying French.
  • And lastly, you will never have too many diplomas to show in your school and job interviews.
