Course Details

Once a fire starts, every second counts. Learn how to safely and effectively respond to a fire using a fire extinguisher, fire hose reel and fire blanket.

 

This course is suitable for:

  • Mining companies and support services generally require employees to have gained this training either at induction or every 2 years.
  • Any trainee who anticipates working in the mining and gas industry
  • Retail sector employees(Banking, shopping centers).
  • The health and community sector (Hospitals, aged care and community groups).
  • Manufacturing and construction.
  • Fire maintenance industry

 

Course Content:

  • Power-point presentation including basic occupational health and safety and evacuation procedures, theory of combustion, fire safety presentation, classification of fire, principals of extinguishment, fire spread and types of fire extinguishers followed by:
  • Practical use of fire extinguishers, fire blanket and hose reel (Bullex or our portable gas training system)
  • Practical assessment, theory assessment and course evaluation.
  • Assessment will be conducted by Skills Force Australia with successful participants gaining a nationally endorsed Statement of Attainment (competent).
