This course is designed to enable the service technician to demonstrate to customers how various portable fire protection products are used in emergency situations.

All work in this area must be completed in accordance with relevant legislative, industry, customer and organisational requirements, including Occupational Health & Safety/Work Health & Safety (OHS/WHS) policies and procedures.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Use of a portable fire extinguisher, a fire hose reel and a fire blanket

  • Apply methods of accounting for people

  • Assist people who need assistance

  • Carry out a search pattern within an area

  • Contribute to emergency management planning

  • Use equipment assigned to assist with implementing the workplace emergency procedures

Upon successful completion of this course, student will be awarded the Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size card* inclusive of the Nationally Accredited course information, student name and course attended date.

Training Details

  • Start Time: 8:00 am (Please arrive 15 minutes earlier for registration and ID checked)
  • Entry Requirement: At least 18 years of age and has basic level of English proficiency (written and communication)
  • Delivery: Face to Face training and assessment in a simulated workplace environment
  • Payment Mode: Cash, credit card, purchase order
  • What to bring: 1 Photo ID 
  • (e.g. Driver’s Licence, Passport (current or expired no more than 2 years), WA proof of age card or other Australian Government issued ID card with photo)
  • Clothing: Long sleeve shirt, long pants and safety boots
  • Parking: Limited free parking on site
