Ready to become a certified dental assistant? Here at Cestar College, our Toronto dental assistant program offers two levels of certification under our Dental Assistant Program – Intra-Oral Level I & II.

Our program prepares you to provide oral health services in various dental practice settings, allowing you to work as part of a dental team to solve medical and dental emergencies, assist with dental procedures, and participate in patient education efforts.

How Cestar College’s Dental Assisting Program Works

Working in a dental office is no easy task – those who are successful in careers in dental assisting are generally those who have attended a dental assisting program that focuses on the practical applications of dental assisting knowledge.

Unlike a dental hygiene program, this program thoroughly prepares its learners to provide direct aid to dentists in the form of administration tasks, patient preparation, chairside dental assisting, and various other dental assisting tasks in the dental office.

Level I and Level II Dental Assistants (as subdivided by the Canadian Dental Assistants Association and recognized by the Ontario Dental Assistants Association) need specific training programs that will refine the skillsets required for different responsibilities on the job.

A dental assistant’s role in preventative dentistry, restorative dentistry, dental radiography, and other essential oral health services in a clinical setting is critical.

A dentist providing quality care almost always has a team of health professionals who assist in creating a welcoming dental office environment where patients are comfortable and satisfied with their level of care.

Cestar College’s dental assisting course (Intra-Oral Level I & II) is NDAEB-approved and accredited for providing formal training for national dental assisting. The program features HARP-approved dental radiography training.
