The dental nurse must complete and be assessed in the following to gain a certificate in Dental Nurse Conscious Sedation:
Must complete 20 mentored cases for IV and/or 10 cases for IHS – must be submitted within 12 months of course attendance.
Two reflective cases studies of at least 250 words each - must be submitted within 12 months of course attendance.
True-False questions – must be submitted within four weeks of attending course.
The dental nurse must be GDC registered to attend the course and have an appropriate approved mentor (normally the sedation qualified dentist working with them).
The face-to-face training days, course catering, all course resources, test questions and all marking of work are included in the course fee.
