What will I learn?
This course will help delegates to understand the behaviours and attitudes that affect the way people respond to each other, and as a result teaches the learner assertive and positive response techniques.
The one day programme will cover:
Identifying the constituents of an assertive style and differentiating between this and aggression
The different legislation that is relevant to assertiveness
The effects of non-assertive, assertive and aggressive behaviour
Using verbal and non-verbal skills to enhance assertive behaviour
Identifying situations where assertive behaviour is appropriate and choosing whether or not to use it
Entry Requirements
This course is aimed at anyone who feels they would like to be able to be more assertive (or less aggressive).
About UCS
The University of Portsmouth and Sparsholt College created ‘University Centre Sparsholt’ in December 2016 as the new name for the College’s Higher Education programmes, which are validated by the University of Portsmouth.
Sparsholt College has been offering Higher Education since the late 1970s and has worked with the University of Portsmouth, its validating university, since the early 1980s. Becoming a University Centre allowed the College to convey more clearly the quality and standards associated with these courses and differentiates them as university level programmes which was further consolidated by its achievement of a TEF Gold award in June 2018.
