Have you ever thought about dying and what happens when you die? Is it something that is openly spoken about in your home or is it something that is never discussed? Are you afraid to die?
I know these are big questions, and in our society, death isn't a topic spoken about around the dinner table. The fact is we are all going to die. Most of us are going to learn how to die from witnessing the transition of a loved one.
At least for me this has been my experience. Even when we are given those moments, rather than talking about it, we still avoid the topic.
I have often felt as though if I avoided talking about death, maybe I could somehow avoid it. Or if I believed a loved one was dying, it would somehow create their death.
That is, until I experienced my own “death.” In that moment, I felt so liberated. It wasn't something I planned; it was actually a pretty big surprise when the Zen Master I trained with took me through a process of dying.
Medically I didn't die, but mentally, physically and spiritually, I experienced the closest thing to death I think possible without actually doing it. The result for me was a feeling of liberation, of expansiveness, and of freedom. So I did it again, and again, and again. I “died” several times and through my experiences I was able to learn a roadmap to dying.
I found it so beneficial that I have designed an 8 stage Active Meditation to bring you through an experience of death. This is a blend of the lessons I was given by the Zen Master I trained with as well as the Samasati meditation I was trained to teach at Humaniversity.
Both schools were heavily influenced by the Tibetan Book of Dead, which is a roadmap to practice dying. The practice itself has some light movement as well as meditation. It is a safe and sacred process available to anyone who is ready to let go of fear and the unconscious attachment to death.

They have the most interesting and unique offerings, combining many new modalities in the meditation, yoga, sound healing, breathwork, etc spaces. I really think they're doing excellent work for the whole community and highly recommend checking them out. They even offer free meditations....a beautiful place altogether!!! This is a place for those looking to go inward, to expand awareness, and promote true healing.
