We offer a range of childcare courses from Entry Level to Level 3 that will help you reach your goal.
It’s Childs Play is a short course, ideal if you are thinking about starting a career working with children, if you want to get back into education or develop skills to help you and your family. The course will give you an introduction to a full Childcare programme so you can find out if it would be right for you.
ESOL for Work in Childcare is delivered at Entry 3. These courses will introduce you to the key aspects of caring for a child while you continue to develop your English language skills. The inclusion of digital skills will prepare you for work in the modern world.
As well as learning the skills needed to care for a baby or young child, subjects include setting a routine, healthy lifestyles and the importance of play and learning.
Preparing to work with Children Level 1 is a year-long course that will introduce you to caring for children, ideal if you want to learn the skills and gain a qualification needed to prepare you for working with children.
Subjects taught will include child development, communicating with children, engaging children through activities, supporting learning, planning for the care of children’s physical and emotional needs, play and leisure activities and science activities.
Childcare Level 2 is a year-long course that will introduce you to key aspects of childcare and education needed to work with children and young people. As well as giving you valuable life skills it will result in a qualification to help you to progress to the next level of learning.
Subjects taught will include child development, safeguarding, an awareness of the importance and value of play for early learning, sensory loss and respecting and valuing children.
Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner Level 2 is a year-long course which will give you the skills and qualification needed to work in a wide range of Early Years settings, where children are aged 0 to 5 years.
Successful completion of this qualification will prepare you to move onto the next level of learning which may include the Level 3 Diploma and other related qualifications or a move into employment. A work placement is needed to achieve this qualification and delivery will include a mixture of online and face to face sessions.
Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) Level 3 is a year-long course which will give you the qualification needed to work in a wide range of Early Years settings, where children are aged 0 to 5 years.
This course will also give you the knowledge of children aged 5 to 7. You will need to be working in the sector already and have already gained the Level 2 EYP qualification or equivalent before starting this course.
