Holders of this qualification are able to work as commercial pilots of an aeroplane engaged in general aviation under the relevant Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) Rules or in associated support industries such as flight planning and aircraft operations. On completion of this qualification, graduates may progress to the New Zealand Diploma in Aviation (Level 6) with strands in Aeroplane Flight Instruction or Aeroplane Airline Preparation.
