University of Cyberjaya (UoC) is a top-tier university in Malaysia as reflected in the latest QS Rankings which accorded UoC a 5-star rating. The University is also ranked Competitive (Berdaya Saing) by the Ministry of Higher Education’s SETARA ratings. Established in 2005 and with an investment of almost RM200 million, the university is located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia’s first smart city, on a 5-acre, modern, fully equipped, green-friendly campus. The campus is surrounded by lush greeneries and provides a serene backdrop for a conducive environment for student living and learning. 

In addition to an overall rating of 5 stars by QS, the University also received 5 stars for specific categories. These are all for 5-stars for Teaching, Employability, Academic Development, Internationalisation, Facilities, Social Responsibility, Inclusiveness, and Specialist Criteria (MBBS). Known for its rigorous and independent data collection and analysis, this recognition by the QS Stars programme has been even more significant.

The University is also currently ranked in the top 401+ under the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2023.

UoC now offers more than 50 programmes, including undergraduate, postgraduate-taught and postgraduate-research programmes across a wide set of disciplines. These include medicine, health sciences, nursing, pharmaceutical sciences, education, psychology, mass communications physiotherapy, homoeopathic medical sciences, business and IT and biomedical technology engineering among others. The University, together with its affiliated institutions currently have a student population of over 7,000 and has produced more than 12,000 successful graduates.  

Backed by over a decade of teaching excellence, we are staffed by over 300 industry-leading academicians and scholars who are committed to research and advancing human knowledge. Our academicians were among the leading professionals from the Ministry of Health, Malaysian Nuclear Agency, National Anti-Drugs Agency, Pharmacy Board and National Homeopathic Medical Council among others. Together, we continue to form strong partnerships through industry collaborations and joint research projects with leading pharmaceutical corporations and public research universities.  

Nurturing the Passion to Care

Since we became a full-fledged University in 2019, the University of Cyberjaya has adopted a brand identity that reflects its global outlook and reflective of our desire to be an academic leader across a range of disciplines.

As one of the few universities that was born and nurtured in Cyberjaya, we feel inspired by the city’s spirit of innovation. We wanted to make sure that this part of our background was characterized in our logo as well. The C-letter mark is modern, forward-thinking, and fluid in design and simply denotes the town of Cyberjaya, where the University is located. It is made up of 3 rings representing academic excellence, innovation, and social impact. The two diagonal intersections on the left of the C-letter mark are designed to create a forward-leaning motion illustrative of the university’s continuous advancement.

The purple embodies the noble values that the university seeks to nurture among all our graduates. A darker shade of purple was chosen to make a stronger and bolder statement. A dash of magenta was added to represent a caring and nurturing approach, a link with our previous motto, Nurturing the Passion to Care.

Quality and Adherence

• Providing quality learning experiences is at the heart of what we do here at the University of Cyberjaya (UoC). We are a private higher education registered and rated 5-Star (Excellent) institution by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE).
• Quality initiatives in UoC revolve around three principles of quality assurance – accountability, self-evaluation and external peer review (e.g. appointment of external examiners for major examinations and accreditation audits by MQA).
• Quality Management and Enhancement Center (QuaMEC) was established in July 2013 and spearheaded the drive to ensure that the highest quality was achieved and maintained at all times.
• The Center provides coordinating and facilitating roles in designing, implementing, managing, and assessing academic programs to meet quality standards; as well as provision of techniques and tools to assist various academic programs and other units of UoC towards self-improvement.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems

• ISO 9001: 2015 is an international standard related to quality management systems and is based on eight quality management principles such as customer focus, leadership, involvement of people, systems approach, process approach, and continual improvements among others.
