This course encompasses a range of topics, including basic skills to build a firm foundation in aesthetic and practical understanding of fashion designing, material matching, sketching, and also sewing.
Students will be taught pointers in fashion merchandising, fashion trends, fashion consultancy and fashion models. Presentation of design is a vital part of fashion marketing, so preparing models for the catwalk, make-up and hair styling, choreography and image dressing will be introduced to the students.
Procurement of raw materials and textures will be addressed in the course to properly gear students for the challenging technical aspects of fashion design.
Individuality and identity plays an important role in fashion design, so students will also be able to opt for marketing their products with a personal brand.

The Bachelor of Fashion Design introduces budding fashion designers to the fundamentals of fashion and more. Students will learn how to utilise textile technology, familiarise themselves with a fashion designer’s studio and develop their fashion senses with design theories.
This programme will teach theories and practical skills related to fashion design, fashion branding, marketing, and consumer behaviour. Students will be exposed to fashion manufacturing and the overall fashion environment.
IFTC offers the Malaysian Skills Certificate Programme and is certified to offer Level 1, 2 & 3 in Ladies Fashion and Dressmaking by the Department of Skills Development (JPK) under the auspice of the Ministry of Human Resources.
