Course Details

This course is designed as a dedicated pathway into the video game industry; where you will explore the subject in a practical environment and learn the principles behind a career in games. The course is designed for students to decide and focus on their strongest areas and would also allow you to choose a career in other related fields, such as digital graphics and marketing.

Studying at Coventry College will give you the necessary skills to write for games production, design professional graphics, as well as managing your own independent company. You will learn how to use industry standard 3D modelling software and how to create your own world-space based around an original video game concept. You will develop your artistic techniques by creating concept artwork for your original game idea, and learn professional and transferrable skills in marketing, management and teamwork.

In discussion-driven lessons and seminars, you will challenge yourself to demonstrate contemporary issues within and surrounding the industry, as well as using workshops to explore your creative qualities. There will be plenty of independent and group study time factored into the course, where you can prepare yourself for what the games industry will expect from you.
