This course covers a wide range of technical practical skills and knowledge required to work as a hair stylist in a salon providing colouring and perming services.
You will complete 30 hours industry salon experience, working with local employers to help you gain the skills and experience required.
You will study a range of modules including the principles of hairdressing, how to treat the hair and scalp, styling, setting and dressing hair and cutting hair using basic techniques.
When will I study?
September – June
What are the entry requirements?
You must have achieved four GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including maths and English language and/or appropriate Level 1 qualification.
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed through theory and practical assessments.
What can I do next?
Upon successful completion of this course, students can progress onto Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Hairdressing.
