Diploma in Investigation Services offered by UNIKOP is one of the most popular programs for students to learn and gain knowledge on critical approach to criminology and investigations, evaluating theory and evidence. This is aligned with the skillsets needed to be an investigator or detective.

Programme Objectives

  • Support and encourage the development of knowledge and skills in students of a critical approach to criminology and investigations, evaluating theory and evidence accordingly with a particular focus on the needs of the private investigators.
  • Develop comprehensive and accumulating ability to utilize a range of analytical, research and transferable skills relevant to the needs of the private investigators.
  • Enable students to develop an understanding, and skills of analysis, synthesis, creativity, evaluation and its relationship with criminal justice, partnerships with clients and the wider community context.
  • Ensure that the specialized and diverse skills and knowledge develop by students during the program can be contextualized to wider security and community safety issues and prepare students to be participants in society through an awareness and understanding of crime and crime control in society.

Entry Requirements
Malaysian Students:

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with 3 credits in any subject and a pass in English; OR
  • A pass in  Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3  in related field; OR
  • A pass in  Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of grade C (GPA 2.00) in any subjects; OR
  • A pass in  Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul (Pass); OR
  • Any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework).

International Students:

  • A pass in O-Level with a minimum of Grade C in 3 subjects
  • Any qualification equivalent to certificate (Level 3, Malaysian Qualifications Framework).
