The Diploma serves as a stand-alone Islamic finance qualification in Islamic banking for those who want more than a basic understanding of the Islamic principles and operating structures applied in banking. Applying Islamic principles that emphasise fairness and justice in commercial transactions of conventional financial markets can pose serious challenges for individuals and Islamic banks.
You will not need to have any background in banking and knowledge of Islamic principles. The course will provide a good grounding of the fundamental principles and the methods adopted by banks that offer Islamic banking products and services. You will acquire the ability to analyse the important differences between Islamic banking and conventional banking.

Course Structure:
The Diploma in Islamic Banking course consists of five modules with 23 lessons and questions at the end of each lesson. The questions are designed to test the understanding of the fundamental concepts and the significance of their practical applications which have been explored within the lessons.

The lectures are given by both the academia and Islamic finance professionals making a significant impact in their field. Speakers address subjects on Islamic finance from a variety of angles, in an attempt to reach a broader understanding of the economic issues that can shape future of the global financial system, as well as to air issues that are neglected by contemporary culture. The topics are varied and intended to be thought provoking but do not necessarily represent the views of the Institute.
