Graduation & Degree Awarded:

Students who successfully complete and pass the modules stipulated in the programme structure will be awarded the Diploma in Mass Communication from Kaplan Higher Education Academy, Singapore.

Advanced Diploma and Diploma graduates can progress to pursue Degree programmes offered by our university partners and other higher education institutions from Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom (relevant disciplines and/or subject to university’s requirements).

 

Core Modules:

  • The Diploma programme consists of 8 modules. Programme duration is 11 months with possible completion in 8 months. The following modules are covered in the programme:

  • Advertising and Public Relations

  • Graphic Design in a Digital Age

  • Introduction to Media Studies

  • Journalism and Ethics

  • New Media and Social Networks

  • Principles of Management

  • Principles of Marketing

  • Visual Storytelling in a Digital Age

 

Entry Requirements:

 

1. Local Students:

  • Kaplan Foundation Diploma; OR

  • Minimum 1 GCE A-Level pass; OR

  • Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis (based on the equivalence to the GCE A-Level); OR

  • Mature candidates (30 years old and above, with a minimum of 8 years of work experience)

 

2. International Students:

  • Kaplan Foundation Diploma; OR

  • Minimum 1 GCE A-Level pass; OR

  • Completion of Year 12; OR

  • Completed High School education in their home country; OR

  • IB Diploma; OR

  • Pre-university certifications (based on the equivalence to the GCE A-Level); OR

  • Other private or foreign qualifications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis (based on the equivalence to the GCE A-Level)

 

English Language Requirement:

  • At least D7 in GCE O-Level English; OR

  • IELTS 6.0 or equivalent1; OR

  • Kaplan Diploma in Professional Business English (PBEP) Level 51
