Diploma in mechanical engineering programmes is a discipline of engineering that follows the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design,manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems. It equips students with more accessible and quality education and provides training to manufacturing or production personnel to meet the needs of manufacturing or production industry. 

This program helps the students to learn continuously, to accumulate new information and make use of that information to improve upon the technologies, to broaden the sphere of technology applications, to develop novel means of improving the environment and contribute to sustainable economy and improve the quality of life. After successful completion of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering course, students can either continue further Engineering studies in undergraduate level or get employment as junior levels as Production Engineers, Quality Control Engineers and Design Engineers and other such positions.

The program of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering will produce Mechanical Engineering technicians, who are,

  • Able to identify the business opportunities and develop managerial skill for career enhancement in the field of mechanical engineering.

Entry Requirements:

  • Passed the Malaysian Certicate of Education (SPM) / Mathematics of Certicate of Mathematics (SPMV) with at least three credits in three (3)
  • subjects including Mathematics and one Science / Technical / Vocational subject and pass English language subject; Or
  • Passed Unied Examination Certicate (UEC) with at least Grade B in three (3) subjects including Mathematics and one Science / Technical /
  • Vocational subject and pass English language subject; Or
  • Passed O-Level with at least C grade in three (3) subjects including Mathematics and one Science / Technical / Vocational subject and pass
  • English course points; Or
  • Passed Level 3 Malaysian Certicate of Skills (SKM) in related eld and passed SPM with at least one credit in one (1) subject and passed the
  • Mathematics masters program (for students who failed Mathematics); Or
  • Passed Community College Certicate equivalent to 3 MOH level in related eld;
  • a) Passed SPM with at least one credit in one (1) subject and passed a Mathematical strengthening program (for students who failed
  • Mathematics). Or

International student:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or equivalent.

  • Pass Vocational and Technical Certicate Skills equivalent to 3 MOH level with PNGK 2.0 and one (1) year experience in related eld or one (1)
  • semester reinforcement program; Or
  • Passed Certicate of Engineering / Engineering Technology (Level 3 KKM) with at least PNGK 2.0; Or
  • Passed the Malaysian High School Certicate (STPM) or equivalent with at least one grade C (NGMP 2.0) in one (1) subject and passed
  • Mathematics, English and one (1) Science / Technical / Vocational subject at SPM level Or equivalent); Or
  • Passed the Malaysian Higher Certicate of Religion (STAM) rank maqbul; As well as pass the Mathematics, English and one (1) Science /
  • Technical / Vocational subject at the SPM (or equivalent) level; Or
  • Other recognized qualications are equivalent to that by the Government of Malaysia.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or equivalent.
