This course will introduce you to the importance of DSE awareness, the regulations that exist in the workplace and how you can better organise your workstation to reduce the risk. It will also explore assessments and good working practices to make your work more comfortable and safer.
Course Content:
DSE Explained:
An introductory module that establishes the foundations for the work you will carry out in the rest of the course. You will cover DSE terminology, the risks and impact of a poorly designed workstation. You will also gain a deeper understanding of employer and employee obligations as well as the legislation that relates to DSE.
DSE Assessments:
Knowing what the risks are is one thing but being able to objectively evaluate your workstation to identify risks is another. This section will walk you through the DSE assessment process, so you know what to look for and how to record your findings.
Workstation Setup:
The best workstations are DSE friendly and ergonomically designed. This will reduce strain, stress and other problems associated with prolonged use of display screen equipment. Within this module you will learn how to properly set up your workstation for maximum comfort and safety.
Posture and Wellbeing:
The final section of the course will explore posture and wellbeing, giving you top tips, practical steps and strategies to help reduce and where possible eliminate the risk of using DSE for long periods of time.
