With a strong sense of community, London based Jackie Dublin, has been keen on developing the youth and single parents without skills for career in Fashion to improve their lives.
She piggybacks on the old folks saying "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." Students can enrol for sewing classes at any time of year.
Utilizing your knit, purl, and cast-on skills, you’ll be able to learn how to make these snuggly socks (although in class you will make a scaled-down version) learn how to knit the gusset, shape the heel and toe, and finally cast-off with Kitchener stitch.
If you are stuck on the sewing project or you need some 1-to-1 tuition in a specific area to help improve your skills you can choose an individual class (suitable for 1 or 2 people) and help to build your confidence.
Anyone who has at least attended a beginners introductory workshop or has the basic knowledge and experience to use a sewing machine and has made a few simple sewing projects.
This series of classes is for those new to knitting socks as well as those who would like to learn how to knit in the round using double pointed needles (dpns). Over the four weeks, we’ll practise the important components of knitting socks from the top (cuff) down including knitting.
