The Early Childhood Assistant (ECA) Diploma Program provides valuable knowledge, skills, and experience. This program helps them become assistants in early learning centers and daycare.

ECA course outline gives an overview of the responsibility of an early childhood assistant. Apply for the ECA program at the Academy of Learning Career College in London to learn the fundamentals of early childcare, rules, and regulations of the early childhood education sector.

The completion time of the ECA diploma program is nine months, and it has two mandatory block placements (Placement #1 in infant /toddler class and Placement #2 in preschool) of 245 hours each.

The practicums will happen in placement sites, and the theory part (12 modules = 445 hours) will be held in class. The National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) has designed and approved our ECA program.Notes: Before entering the program, in compliance with the law for working in vulnerable sectors, students must submit:

  • Satisfactory medical examination
  • Police reference check (vulnerable sector check)

Before starting the Practicum, students will have to be CPR certified.

Career Opportunities

Graduates may find employment as assistant educators in nursery schools, childcare, and early learning centers.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Daily participation in the activities of a childcare center or early learning center.
  • Observation and guiding children throughout the day with a professional approach.
  • Enhance the self-esteem of children during daily activities.
  • Referring to the NACC, be experienced in related health and safety issues during daily operations.
  • Encourage children’s socialization as they experience things together.
  • Demonstrate communication skills with children, co-workers, and parents.
  • Understand children’s intellectual, emotional, and physical development from infancy to age 6.
  • Help to provide the environment in which young children can thrive.
