Early Years course is offered by Leicester Safeguarding Children Partnership Board
Early Years providers are an important part of the network that helps to safeguard our children and babies.
Babies represent the highest numbers within our child protection plans and both locally and nationally have the highest likelihood of being harmed through abuse or neglect.
Safeguarding the most vulnerable children in Leicester has always been a priority for our organisations and all partners. In 2019/20 we have strengthened our partnership arrangements to safeguard children.
The Leicester Safeguarding Children Partnership Board has been established to oversee the new Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children arrangements in response to the Children and Social Work Act 2017 and as required by the government guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023. These arrangements build on the strong foundation of the Local Safeguarding Children Board that they replace.
As a Partnership Board we will provide leadership and joint accountability for the protection, support and representation of those in greatest need.
We will be continuing to make sure that effective systems are in place to protect children from abuse and to prevent impairment to children’s health and development. We want to be sure that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care. We will ensure that action takes place to continue to improve practice and to enable all children to have the best possible outcomes.
