Early Years Emotional Wellbeing NCFE CACHE Level 4 Award
This qualification is designed for learners to increase their knowledge and understanding of emotional wellbeing in early years settings. Learners will examine the influence of families and early years practitioners on children’s emotional wellbeing and the importance of supportive practice.
This qualification will support learners to create and implement action plans to improve practice in their own early years setting. They will work with families, early years practitioners and other professionals to make a positive impact in the promotion of emotional wellbeing.
Learners will also gain an understanding of when it is appropriate to signpost individuals to national and local support services and to other professionals within the sector. Learners will be encouraged to continue to promote the benefits of emotional wellbeing and reflect on good practice on completion of the qualification.
Workbased Learning allows students the benefits of gaining a recognised qualification whilst working. All students will have access to an e-portfolio with supporting resources and online lessons as well as the benefit of a one to one allocated assessor on hand to support your learning journey.

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods including written assignments, projects, and professional discussions.
Knowledge based outcomes can be assessed using a variety of assessment tasks including assignment, online learning and activities. All assessment methods will be co-ordinated to suit the individual needs of the learner

What will I study?
The Level 4 Award in Early Years Emotional Wellbeing aims to develop and assess the knowledge and skills required to support practitioners in promoting the benefits and importance of emotional wellbeing in early years settings.
This qualification aims to:
focus on the study of emotional wellbeing in the early years sector
offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge
provide opportunities to acquire a number of practical and technical skills
The objectives of this qualification are to:
examine and raise awareness of the benefits and importance of early years emotional wellbeing for children, their families and practitioners
provide early years practitioners with the tools to make a positive impact when promoting emotional wellbeing within their own setting
signpost national emotional wellbeing support strategies
continue to promote the benefits of emotional wellbeing in their early years setting on completion
Learners will complete 2 mandatory units, within a 6 month period.
These are:
Unit 01 – Understanding emotional wellbeing in early years settings
Unit 02 – Promoting emotional wellbeing in early years settings
The delivery of this qualification will be a mix of blended learning of self-study, online teaching, support and networking sessions as well as research task which will need to be completed in your setting. You will be supported throughout the qualification by an allocated assessor and have the opportunity to attend networking events.
This qualification supports professional development to those working with children to further enhance knowledge of emotional wellbeing in early years.

The Emotional Intelligence for Leaders course will enable you to assess and build your own emotional intelligence and leadership skills. You will learn techniques to better manage behaviours that hold you back from optimal performance.
