Course Summary

The course will ensure that the next generation of drone operators attain and develop the skills
and knowledge they need to operate safely in heavy industrial environments that have specific
operational hazards and constraints such as Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, Renewables, Nuclear,
Infrastructure and Rail sectors.
It will set the standard for industrial operations, not only in the oil and gas industry, but for a wide
variety of sectors including petrochemicals, nuclear, renewable, rail, infrastructure and maritime.
The course will involve theoretical and practical elements.

Course Objectives

By the end of this training programme delegates will:

  • Be aware of the relevant regulations pertaining to flying operations (eg. CAA, EASA)

  • Recognise the role Human Factors can play in inducing errors into Industrial drone

  • operations.

  • Identify and select aircraft and payloads appropriate to the task and environment

  • Describe a range of factors that can affect aircraft control

  • Capture data to meet quality and General Data Protection Regulation requirements

  • Identify hazards and mitigate risks in a range of Industrial environments utilising the correct

  • reporting procedures in the event of an incident

  • Create Pre deployment risk assessments

  • Perform commercial drone operations safely within Industrial environments

Target Audience

All personnel who are involved in the use of Drones in an industrial/commercial environment.

Pre-requisites

  • Due to certain aspects of the course being physically demanding and potentially stressful,
    delegates will be required to confirm their medical fitness & physical ability to participate on
    this course by completing a medical self-screening form prior to course commencement

  • All personnel must have passed the CAA permission for commercial operations (PfCO)
    scheme

Delegates should bring

  • Government Issued Photographic ID e.g.
    Driver License or Passport

  • Wet Weather Gear & set of dry clothing

  • Safety Glasses or Goggles if prescribed

  • Candidate is required to provide a Commercial Drone and all
    relevant insurances
