Overview

The Education and Training award is suitable for those who are currently training, assessing or new to teaching and require a qualification for their role.

It is based on Model 2, where some of the units have been taken from learning and development.

The qualification can also be used for continuous professional development purposes. 

Key information

Entry requirements

Learners will need to be in a role where they are either teaching or assessing students in order to achieve the optional learning and development units of the qualification.

A pre-course interview will be required with the course tutor to ensure you learners can meet the learning outcomes of the qualification.

Course delivery

The award is split into two parts, including mandatory units studied in a classroom environment and assessed through assignments, as well as an optional unit featuring workplace visits, where learners will be required to gather evidence from a work-based learning context.

Mandatory units

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education

  • Understanding the principles and practice of assessment

Optional units

  • Facilitate learning and development for individuals

  • Facilitate learning and development in groups

Additional information

At the end of the qualification, the portfolio of evidence will be submitted for assessment and quality assurance.
