This course is a follow-on programme for those who have successfully completed the Certificate in Teaching. For acceptance onto the course students must meet the entry requirements as set out and must liaise with their employer in order to provide evidence that they are employed in an FE College or in the work based learning sector.

Year one

Action Research in the Classroom

Year: 1

This module offers learners the opportunity to complete a short action research project within their own subject discipline, drawing upon contemporary literature and theory.

They are encouraged to address issues and initiate solutions by being adventurous within their own classrooms and trialling new pedagogic techniques and approaches. They will be able to draw on peer and tutor feedback to implement new ideas and evaluate them for dissemination across the wider FE sector.

Quality Innovation and Change

Year: 1

This module offers learners the opportunity to explore new structures in terms of processes, design assessment and support mechanisms that will enhance quality. Collaborative learning and action based investigative studies will facilitate the transfer of support and information during this module.

Quality indicators will be investigated to enhance the future development of learning programmes, configured using customised and accessible units of assessment and outcomes driven objectives.
